I’m the leader of Team Dermatology, which is part of Corporate Marketing and Medical Affairs.

Jim at work

I manage a team of 17 dedicated people. Together, we’re responsible for setting up a global marketing platform for LEO Pharma’s dermatology drugs. We try to build up a holistic understanding of all our stakeholders’ needs – especially those which could influence the way we develop and market our dermatology products, both now and in the future. This means we look closely at the needs of people with skin conditions – and those who treat them.

Positioning for maximum value

Taking what we’ve learned, we position our products for maximum impact on the market, so we can deliver great value to patients and society.
During this process, we get a lot of feedback from end users and healthcare specialists. This is like gold for us! We take it directly to R&D and discuss ideas for new products and solutions that we know meet the needs of the market.

I really feel that I can influence the company’s direction – especially with regard to our product portfolio. I have the freedom to make my own decisions and to run projects as I see fit – as long as it helps us accomplish our corporate goals. This is the place to be if you want to make a difference.

Cool projects

For me, the coolest projects place me in front of a group of my peers, where I have to convince them of a new strategy. It’s great to be the one who kick starts a project – and you get to see everyone around you moving toward a single goal.

LEO Pharma is constantly changing, so each day presents us all with new challenges. And there’s a real family feeling here. No matter where I am in the world, or what I’m doing, I feel I belong to a community with shared values and goals.

At LEO Pharma, you really can make decisions which have an impact on the company, our customers and even society. Your career at LEO is only limited by your own ambition and imagination. And your job can become what you make it.

In my time at LEO, I’ve learned as much from the people around me as from the courses I’ve been on or the books I’ve read. Earlier in my career, I took part in some great training programmes. And I’ve had some great mentors who’ve been generous in sharing their unique insights into marketing for the pharmaceutical sector.

In the 20 years I’ve worked for LEO Pharma I’ve had eight different jobs. That’s an average of one every two and a half years! I hope that, in five years time, I’ll have had more great experiences here, and I’ll be in an even better position to do an important job for the company.

I love travelling. I go at my own pace, so I can really take in every new place I visit.
